CUSTOMER SERVICE

Dealing with Verizon and UPS today, made me wish I could withdraw from the human race.  The other thing I thought of is, if I do get elected Governor, I just might ask the General Assembly to pass a Customer Service Bill.  Customer service with these big companies like Verizon, Met-Ed and Comcast is very low, compared to what we have to pay them.  Customer service was much better 40 years ago when the phone and electric bill were only $5 per month.

These companies should have to pay stiff fines for not having good customer service.  And the PUC is a joke.

I realize the General Assembly would probably never go along with this since they are probably bought by these big companies.  But, that doesn't mean I won't ask them.

What I want this bill to do is provide that when you call a large company like Verizon or Comcast, you must be able to talk to a real person here in Pennsylvania, or at the very least in the United States.  I don't care if that real person is just someone to find out what you need so they can send to the right department.  Then, when they put you on hold, it can't be more than a minute till you are able to talk to that right department.

If your call does not go properly, I want this bill to provide that you will be able call your State Representative or Senator, and they will take your complaint and give your complaint to the proper State Department.

For each complaint, the State will fine the company $1000 for failure to comply with the law.

I also want companies to treat people like people.  I don't know about you, but I am getting tired of being treated like a machine, that all they need to find you is a number, not your name.

So, where is this coming from now?

I am having trouble with my computer.  I called Verizon, my provider.  It was determined I need a new modem.  So, the lady said she was going to put an order through for a new modem to be sent by UPS.  And, she said, she was going to send me an e-mail with a tracking number.   Now, how was I going to get that tracking number?  It took most of the day to get on Facebook.  That's how bad my internet connection is.  I couldn't get on the internet at all this morning.  But, the lady said it could take 2 days for delivery.  That's Friday.  That's my busy day.  So, I called UPS to find out approximate deliver time so I could be home.  Well, they asked me for a tracking number, which I didn't have and could not get at the time.  I asked them to look up my name.  "We can't do that, we have to have a tracking number."

Finally, in the afternoon, I was able to get on the internet and check my e-mail.  No message from Verizon with my tracking number.  So, I called Verizon and let them know what was going on.  That's when I found out that UPS claimed to have tried to deliver the modem, but couldn't find my house.  So, they sent the modem back to Verizon, and my case was closed.

So this guy from India said he put a new order through for a modem, and is sending it through UPS.  How is that going to work?  Will they find my house this time?  So, I have no idea when I'm going to get a new modem.  I told the guy in India that I will be home somewhere about 4.  To tell UPS that.

It has taken me 2 hours to write this because of all the glitches cause by this modem problem.  I hope I corrected them all.

Good night.  I will see you all when I can.

THIS IS CRAZY, AN OPEN POST TO VERIZON

Verizon Telecom, thank you. Because of you, I have to use 2 browsers. I am using Firefox for Facebook. Internet Explorer for everything else. Want to know what I'm talking about, go here: https://www.facebook.com/tom.lineaweaver/posts/521249147977775

Right now I am writing this on Firefox, and listening to True Country FM using Internet Explorer. Firefox doesn't play that station. So, I need 2 browsers.

You and UPS put me through hell this week. And I still don't have a new modem. Well, yesterday I was able to get on the UPS website with the tracking number I finally got. There I was informed that the "package" will be delivered on Monday. It better be. If I find out that they can't find my address again, and if you don't send a tech with a new modem, I'm calling the PUC, of course the Pennsylvania PUC is a joke, so you probably don't have anything to worry about. But, I will be calling a lawyer. Here in Pennsylvania, there is a tort for pain and suffering. When I tell a lawyer my whole story, I might just have a case.

All I want is a new modem by Monday, and my bill to reflect the hell you put me through this week.

Now, I have to go, this page is all of a sudden going crazy. Probably because of the modem problem I'm having.

IT'S HERE

Got the new modem. It's better, but it's still really slow. And I got rid of Firefox. It was acting crazy. It would open new windows or tabs without me wanting it to. I am back to Internet explorer. Still slow. And somethings don't work at all. The speed test came out fine. So, the modem appears to be working. So, could it be my computer? If anyone out there knows about computers, I would appreciate some help. I have an HP computer, using Windows 7, with the IE 11 browser. What could be causing slow speeds?

COMPUTER UPDATE

Verizon Telecom Okay, I had a problem with my computer. I cleaned the computer, and the last scan came back normal. So, now my computer is working fine. Got the new modem on Monday, and that is working better. But, still having problems. Now I am told there have been outages in Pennsylvania in the last 2 weeks, which is when my problems began. And I am told technicians are working to correct the problems created by those outages. Why wasn't I told this before?

Okay, I am having most of my problems during the day part. It is now 3:30 in the afternoon, and the internet is really slow. Since the problems that occurred 2 weeks ago, I have been told I am not the only one having this problem. Up to this point, your company has tried to convince me I was the only one.

Now, when I am on the internet early in the morning, say 3 AM, everything is fine. So, what this tells me is that your system has a capacity problem. The more people using it, the computer equivalent of a traffic jam occurs. Based on my experiences of the past 2 weeks, I would say you need a server somewhere in Pennsylvania to alleviate the problems related to that server in Reston, VA.

In the mean time, you should give a break to all of the effected customers.

There you go Verizon Support.  Does that help you?

I have been having problems with your service ever since I had it.  I thought I was having a problem with my computer, so a friend got me another one.  And I have been having problems then too.

The first problem I noticed was the clock wouldn't keep time.  It runs off the internet.  Well, I took my computer to a store to get it checked.  He hooked it up, and it worked fine.  He had it hooked up to Comcast, and the computer worked fine.  Do you get that?

But, it's never been as bad as it has been in the last 2+ weeks.

The first thing I noticed was that my Pandora Stations wouldn't work.  None of them.  I've been having hard times with Pandora off and on.

I also have trouble with Youtube.  Now, I updated my flash player, and that helped.  But it still has glitches.  Start-stop-start-stop.....  Sometimes the stops are minutes in length.

Speed tests are normal.  The line checks out.  The modem appears to be working, and yet I still have these glitches.

Now, I should be getting some extra money at the  end of the month.  That is in the last 3rd of the month.  If your system is not working by then, I will have to go back to Comcast.

I need my internet now more than ever.  I am using it to explore the possibility of running for President.  And if I decide to run, and win.  I believe I will institute a Customer Service Index, to show the American which companies have good customer service, and those that don't.

At Facebook, there are several groups that have the words, "Verizon SUCKS,"  in the name of the group.  Obviously, I'm not the only one having trouble with Verizon.

Here is what good service means to me.
1. Get my internet fixed by the 20th of November, 2014.
2. Update the phone service in my area in a year.
3. The fix the whole system so that those Facebook groups have nothing, or not much to complain about, ASAP.

As of now, your CSI (Customer Service Index) is probably very low.  As I see it, people have good cause for saying "Verizon SUCKS."  I don't like that language.  But, I am quoting it.

AN UPDATE

My computer now works fine until I connect it to the internet, then all bets are off.  It may work fine for a couple minutes, then it will go haywire.

Everytime it works fine, the internet light on the modem is solid, with an occasional flash.  When the computer/internet goes haywire, the internet light flashes rapidly.  I know, you folks at Verizon would like to think there is no connection.  But, how can there not be.

From what I see, you just don't want to acknowledge there is a problem with your system.  And it is a system problem because the groups and pages at Facebook with "Verizon SUCKS" in the group or page name suggests that it is a system problem.  And, I will not tolerate it much longer.
